Dear Parents,

Welcome to our new-format newsletter!

it has been a really successful term at ERA,  which has been characterised by a real sense of forward-momentum, as a result of the dedication of the whole community.  We have had excellent teaching and learning as always from the staff team but also playtime and eco-developments led by support staff; developments and improvements to the school site and equipment by parents at our 'Groundforce Day'; beautiful illustration and presentation of our school values by our resident parent illustrator (!) and an ever-growing governing body of parents and community members.  We feel very lucky to have so many people invested in the success of the school - go TeamERA!

ERA School Library

As you know, we now have a really thriving school library which is being regularly restocked with recent releases.  We also have a system where children can now recommend and request books if they are part of a series which interest them.

Please do come and have a look at our books with your child - the library is open at 8:30 and 3:15 every day to all of you.

Please can we also ask you to have a check at home to see if any of our books have ended up on your shelves?  We are missing a few and suspect they might be in bags or bedrooms!

Parking

A very quick reminder to please park carefully in the village.  Our local community are really important to us and our neighbours can become frustrated with the school and school staff if parents park across their steps, meaning that they have to climb up the banks with their shopping etc.

SeeSaw

I'm frustrated to report that our digital portfolio platform, SeeSaw have significantly increased their process so that we are now unable to afford to use the school-integrated service.

This means that SeeSaw will go offline over half-term.

We are setting up a secure section of our new school website where you will be able to view class news, photo albums and blogs and this will be up and running by the end of term 6.

In time, we hope to set up some kind of online learning environment using our Microsoft 365 platform.  If you have any expertise in this area - do get in touch!

Please send all formal communications through the admin email.  You can also drop quick messages into your child's diary, which is checked by staff every day.

Please don't forget you are also very welcome to wander into class with your child at 8:30am, no matter their age.  Teachers will not be able to have long/formal meetings at this time but they will be happy to hear hand-over news or messages for the day ahead so please come on in!
